PMO & delivery

A PMO is the function that gives leadership control over delivery — governance, reporting, risk and cadence across a programme or portfolio. When it is missing or has drifted, delivery slips and no one can see why.

Strategys supplies the senior PMO managers, programme and project leads, scrum masters and project economists who put that control back — as interim leadership, PMO as a service, or a full delivery team.

Who it's for

When delivery needs a firmer grip

We are most useful at the moments a programme is hardest to hold — a PMO that needs standing up, a portfolio no one can see clearly, or senior cover needed now. The common need is control you can trust and momentum you can sustain.

  • Programmes that lost control

Large change programmes where scope, dependencies and reporting have drifted, and leadership needs a firm grip on delivery again.

  • Interim cover

Organisations that need a senior PMO or programme lead now — to cover a gap, stand up a function, or steady a programme — without a permanent hire.

  • Portfolios that need visibility

Leadership teams that cannot see, across projects, what is on track, what is at risk and where the money is going, and need trustworthy portfolio reporting.

How we work

Control first, then momentum

We get control in place quickly — structure, reporting and cadence — then keep delivery moving with risk and economics under active management. Where the programme is a transformation or a deal, we pair this with our digitalisation and post-merger integration practices.

  1. Stand up or steady the PMO

Put the right structure in place fast — governance, cadence, roles and tooling — whether that means standing up a PMO from scratch or steadying one that has drifted.

  2. Bring portfolio visibility

Establish trustworthy reporting on status, dependencies, risks and spend, so leadership can see what is really happening and decide on evidence.

  3. Drive the delivery cadence

Run the operating rhythm — planning, stand-ups, steering, dependency management — so teams keep moving and blockers are surfaced and cleared early.

  4. Manage risk and economics

Keep risk, change control and the project economics under active management, so cost and benefit stay visible and decisions are made before problems compound.

  5. Sustain or hand back

Leave the organisation able to run it — documented ways of working, upskilled people, and a clean hand-back — rather than dependent on us to keep the lights on.

Experience

Senior delivery leads, ready to take the reins

Every consultant we place is a senior PMO or delivery specialist who can take the reins of a complex programme quickly. We work across financial services, life sciences, the public sector and manufacturing, with senior specialists who bring both Danish and international experience.

FAQ

PMO & delivery — questions we get

What is a PMO and what does a PMO lead do?

A PMO (Project or Programme Management Office) is the function that gives leadership control over delivery — governance, planning, reporting, risk and dependency management across projects. A PMO lead runs that function: setting the cadence, establishing trustworthy reporting, managing risk and economics, and keeping delivery moving.

What is an interim PMO lead?

An interim PMO lead is a senior PMO professional brought in for a defined period — to cover a gap, stand up a new PMO, or steady a programme that has drifted — without a permanent hire. Strategys supplies interim PMO and programme leads who can take the reins quickly and hand back cleanly.

What does "PMO as a service" mean?

PMO as a service is where we provide the PMO capability — the people, the operating model and the reporting — as an engagement rather than as permanent headcount. You get a functioning PMO run by senior specialists, scaled up or down as the programme needs, and handed back when you are ready to run it yourself.

Which delivery roles can Strategys supply?

Senior PMO managers and leads, programme and project managers, scrum masters and project economists. We place them individually as embedded specialists, or as a delivery team, depending on what the programme needs.

Do you work in traditional, agile or hybrid delivery?

All three. Our consultants work in waterfall, agile and hybrid environments and adapt to how your organisation actually runs, rather than imposing a single method. The goal is control and momentum, not a particular framework badge.

Can Strategys embed a single specialist or run the whole delivery?

Both. We supply a single senior PMO or delivery specialist to embed in your team as staff augmentation, or a team that owns the delivery structure end to end, across Denmark and the Nordics in Danish, English, Arabic, Urdu and other European languages.
